The Winner of the Favorite Season Pole Is.....

(Drum roll, please.....) AUTUMN! Well now, there's a big surprise. Autumn won with 55% of the vote, summer came in second with 20%, spring was a pretty close third with 17% and winter came in last with only a lousy 6%. (Which only comes to 98% but what can I say? these are the figures that blogspot spit out). What's with the lack of winter love people? That's my second favorite season! Gimme that cold weather and I'm a happy camper. I've always felt that way. Even before I became afflicted with this thing called MEN-O-PAUSE. Now that I'm in a perpetual state of roasting like a turkey, winter has become an even more treasured time of year for me! I'm not going to talk ugly about all you summer people, really I'm not. I don't understand you, but that doesn't mean I think you're crazy (well, really I do think that, but it'd be soooo rude for me to say so, wouldn't it?). I do get the spring voters. Spring is nice...all the pretty plants and trees coming back to life, the weather getting slightly warmer, the sunshine breaking up the monotony that winter can sometimes become. But summer lovers? Please! I beg of you! Anybody that voted for summer, seek medical attention immediately. I believe you may be suffering from heat stroke and are too disoriented to know it. At the very least, go take an ice cold shower. Wake up! Come to your senses! Your brain is baked - that's the only logical explanation for your vote! Or maybe it's my brain thats baked. Yeah, that could be it. I should move. I should move somewhere that doesn't get to triple digits on a regular basis in the summer. Any suggestions? I was telling Joan @http://jcjourneys.blogspot.com/ (a summer person, I believe, but I still like her) that I had been rather randomly checking out houses in Spokane, Washington. The weather up there seems to be perfect for me. How about were you're at? Anybody lookin' to gain a neighbor? I swear, I'd be a good neighbor! I mind my own business...usually. I don't have wild parties or play loud music. I won't park in front of your mailbox. I only need cooler weather. That's my only requirement. Well, that's my major requirement. Come on, people. Help me out. Where's a good place to live for nice cooler weather with no long lasting, blistering, paint peeling, body roasting summers?

  1. Dear Kari, Thanks for the great story about the VWrabbit. I do think those cars shrunk over the last few years. As for cooler spots to drool over-- check out the San Juan Islands in Washington. If my grandchildren lived there, that would be my address as a fellow men-o-pause (Ilove it!) sufferer. Check out Orcas Island, Shaw Island and San Juan Island. If you like beautiful locations - this is it. You have to take a ferry boat to get there but even that is fun. Stephanie

  4. Autumn? Already? What happened to summer? You people in the States get all the great weather, especially with 4 full seasons in some places. I'm off to "rain-bathe"

  5. Well, I was an autumn voter. Next would've been Winter.

BUT, I can't help you with the relocation. The temps are worse down here in Southeast Texas. Just awful. Blehhhhh!!!! Where ever you go, I'll join. I can't stand this heat and I've been here all my life. UGH! lol

  6. Aside from the miserable smoke coming from burning forests, Montana has been a lovely summer spot. The temps have not reached over 95 all summer (unless you're a forest fire fighter standing next to the fire). There is a house for sale two doors down from us if you are interested. :)

BTW - It's also a perfect winter spot - no humidity so it doesn't have the frigid cold feeling of the Midwest (and no smoke - that's a bonus!)

  7. LOVE the Fall...I was one of your voters! : )

Upstate was nice but can get warm in the Summer...but not too miserable. Seattle was so nice when we were there one Summer. : )

I coolest I have ever been in Summer was in Northern California, along the coast. It was heavenly! Of course, I could never afford to actually LIVE there! But it was heavenly! We had lunch one day, in an English Tea Room along the ocean. They had a roaring fire and it felt so good. It was AUGUST! And it was chilly! Loved it.

    Hugs!

  9. I tried to get the summer people to vote but no such luck.:-) I'm really okay with fall and all the way until after the holidays. But then in Southwest Ohio comes the season of doom and gloom and I'm not kidding. Hardly any sun for a few months. St. Patrick's Day is one of my favorite because I know we are heading into better weather. I think San Diego is suppose to have the best weather in the coutry. So there's an idea!!

  10. I can't wait for nice crisp Fall mornings, yummy.
You might try very far north? We are keeping plenty hot here in Oklahoma!

  11. Well since I live in sunny Florida where it's pretty warm (if not HOT) all the time, I guess that rules out us ever being a neighbor. Darn!

    Hugs!

  14. Dont ask me I am a die hard summer lover. I go into a depression once winter starts. Give me fun, sun, margaritas, boating you name it. Btw I live in Ca and would never think of living in Washington. I visited once in the middle of July, and was horrified that it was so cold and rainy!
