My poor Sydney has injured his back again. The vet said he's got some sort of pinched nerve along his spinal cord and has to take medicine for the next two weeks. He's also restricted to a dog cage, unless he's sitting on one of our laps, because he can't run or jump until his back heals completely. This is going to make it tough for him to discipline the neighbors and any other citizens that make the mistake of walking in view of our house. Sydney loves to bark and chase them down, don'tcha know. He had to have a shot of cortisone today to get him started down the path of healing and he's been kind of sad looking and listless ever since. Bless his heart...I'm hoping he starts feeling better soon.
I hope he does as well. One of my cats became paralized in the hind quarters when he was 14 he could not hold his urine or the back end as well.the vet sain that his problem could not be cured and we ended his suffering right than and there, and we both had crying jags the rest of the day.I hope That never happens to your little guy.
ReplyDeleteYikes, bless his tiny little heart.
ReplyDeleteMiss Daisy is a barker too when anyone rides by our house on a golf cart. I think she's afraid they have taken "hers". LOL
Seriously, I hope sweet Sydney heals quickly.
Hugs!

Aw, poor guy. I hope he makes a quick recovery!
ReplyDeleteThat is so sad! I am feeling the same way with my new meds. No one suggested that I get to be in a carrier. That would have been great.
ReplyDeletePoor you! It's not easy, is it. He's looks so much like my Mom's doggy. He just had surgery to repair multiple slipped disks (he is NOT a young dog). One morning he just couldn't move his back half and they thought he was permanently paralyzed. He's on his 9th cat-life now after the surgery and a very long recovery.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Kari--tell Sydney to be a good patient and do what he is told.
I hope Sydney heals quickly and the confinement isn't too hard on him. Or you.
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad when they hurt! I hope he recovers nicely, Kari. ((hugs))
ReplyDeletePoor Sydney! I hope he feels better soon. Is he in any pain?
