I just read your "query" about the official date for fall decorating. I decided it was August 6th, sorta. I made a wreath and posted about it yesterday. Then I put it away, until next month. I don't wait much longer than the first or second week of Sept. We've had fall like weather all summer. It has us wondering how much snow we will have this winter, as retribution!!;-)
