Shouldn't the Man Who Would be President Have at Least Some Measure of Pride in Our Country?

Neither Barack Obama or Michelle Obama gives any indication that they are proud of our country which, for me, begs the question: When did some people become convinced that Americans should be ashamed of America? When and why did that become okay? I'm not ashamed. I'm extremely proud of our country. I'm proud of the way my fellow countrymen come together in times of crisis. I'm proud of our military for protecting our freedom and defending freedom for others all over the world. I'm happier than I could ever possibly express at being blessed enough to call the United States of America home. Furthermore, I take great offense at those Americans who express shame of and for our country. Americans like these two:

Ashamed of our country, but this is who they spent 20 plus years cavorting with? This is the person who performed their marriage ceremony, the person who baptized their children, the person who, before it became to too politically expensive, Barack Obama declared was "like family" to him?

Barack Obama is not a person who should hold the highest office in our land. The person who holds that office should go into it with a deep and abiding love of our country. The person who holds that office most assuredly should not be a person steeped in sermons of hate and division. Shame on those of you who refuse to believe your own eyes and ears. Your ability to "transcend" the issues of this election doesn't make you enlightened. It makes you frighteningly and willfully blind.

  1. Right on cue...and just before I head out the door...

This is exactly what I've been saying all along. I don't always expect enough of my presidential candidates, but I do expect him/her to be a patriot...at least THAT. This candidate is not nor is his wife. Unacceptable.

I am going to do one more political post probably tomorrow...though I should've warned people away today.

    You take care...Courage!

  2. I can't stand either of them. I'm just amazed that people don't get it.

She said "For the first time in my adult life, I'm proud of my country." I don't care what spin is put on that - it's what she said. Disgusting.

I'm proud of my country, and I'll continue to be proud, even if Obama is elected. I'm proud of the fact that we are ABLE to vote for the person of our choice.

  4. Know what? When I asked a MODERATE Dem friend to look at the U-tube of all those Dems in Congress, saying that Fanny/Freddie Mae/Mack were FINE!

And Dems saying that to question, was a racial thing.

And of the Rep. trying to point out that Fanny/Freddie neeeeeeeded investigation...

    He blew me off.

Needless to say, though we have been friends for 6-7 years, I no longer consider him a friend. And no longer have any connection with him.

Yeah, this ol' gal can be *nasty.* Hehhhhhhhhhh...

  5. There's a lot of us proud of our country. Why else would we enlist in the military? Why risk our lives for something we don't like? Oh, like Obama?
Somebody point out "My Country, Right or Wrong" to him.

  6. Kari, I've seen these and I just don't know what to say anymore.

I do have a question that I can't seem to find a consistent answer for: how much does a person make to be considered middle class? What is the range?

  7. I pray that in the next week people wake up, but i think this guy and his well oiled machine have got everyone hoodwinked. When the people that vote him into office finally learn everything about this bozo, they'll wish they had not voted with emotion but with their heads !!!

He scares the hell out of me !!!

  8. For Mary: although the median income varies from state to state and area to area, the median income for the U. S. is $38,760.95 I suspect that that amount might be grandiose in a small town in the rural south, but starvation wages in many parts of New York City.
Ain't life amazing? I've been working on a blog about that very problem we have when the minimum wage is raised. (So I ain't really so smart.)

  9. So how do I forward this to people? How could any person in his right mind vote for someone for president who sat under this kind of teaching and authority for twenty years? Are people blind? Spiritually blind, maybe?
